His performing career takes him to nearly forty countries in all five continents, working with prestigious Institutes and Festivals (the Venice Biennal, The Sferisterio of Macerata Festival , I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano,Vienna 's Fine Arts Academy and Albertina Gallery ,etc.). Has premiered, recorded and edited many pieces for guitar written for him ( more than one hundred new compositions have been dedicated to him by well-known composers such as Guarnieri, Cappelli, Ugoletti, Solbiati, Molino, Paccagnini, Benati, etc.).He has recorded several CD's and is a Jury member at important international Competitions. He has played chamber music with Alirio Diaz, Oscar Ghiglia, Maxence Larrieu, Sonia Turchetta, Enzo Porta,Leonardo De Lisi.
Got a Diploma cum laude at Parma Conservatory and a Diploma with distinction at the Accademia Chigiana; studied with Enrico Tagliavini,Alirio Diaz, Oscar Ghiglia,who had him as his assistant, and lastly with Andrès Segovia. Teaches at Rovigo Conservatory and holds guitar seminars and master classes in the U.S.A., Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Russia ,etc.,and, in Italy, for the Accademia Pianistica di Imola and the Accademia Musicale Umbra.
Bonaguri's recent achievements include an "Hommage to Segovia" recital at Madrid's Centro de la Villa and a recital at the U.N. headquarters in New York on April 3rd,1995. The international press has thus expressed itself : "Most inspired rendering" (The New York Times), "Bonaguri's musicianship is superlative" ( American Records Guide )," Marvellous performance " (Gendai Guitar,Tokio), "A superb performance" ( Classical Guitar ), " Ottima interpretazione" ( CD Classica). Andrés Segovia wrote of him : " He will soon be a famous name among the best guitarists of our time ".
